The frozen raspberry margarita is an unbeatable refreshing treat. Previously, I shared a classic raspberry margarita recipe using homemade raspberry syrup instead of Chambord liqueur.
Now, it's time to kick things up a notch with a frozen version. Blend up some crushed ice, and you've got a perfect summer drink!
? Ingredients
- Tequila - For the best flavor, pick a quality tequila made from 100% agave. Silver (Blanco) tequila has a clean, crisp taste, while reposado offers a deeper flavor due to oak barrel aging. Mezcal adds a smoky touch to the mix.
- Cointreau - A premium orange liqueur that balances sweet and bitter orange flavors. Its clear, smooth texture enhances the citrusy notes without overpowering.
- Fresh Lime Juice—Use freshly squeezed lime juice for the brightest flavor. Roll the lime on the counter before juicing for maximum juice.
- Raspberry Syrup - Homemade raspberry syrup sweetens and balances the tart lime. You can make it using either a no-cook infusion method or a quicker stovetop option. Chambord or a delicious raspberry liqueur can be a substitute.
- Fresh Raspberries - Blend fresh raspberries for an extra burst of flavor.
- Crushed Ice - Blend two scoops of crushed ice for a perfect frozen margarita.
- Garnish - Top with a fresh raspberry on the rim and a straw for garnish. You can also use mint leaves.
See the recipe card for quantities.
? Step-by-Step
? Instructions
Step 1: Add tequila, Cointreau, raspberry syrup, freshly squeezed lime juice, and fresh raspberries to your blender.
Step 2: Add two scoops of crushed ice to the blender.
Step 3: Secure the blender lid and blend until the drink reaches a thick, smooth consistency. If it’s too runny, add more crushed ice and blend again.
Step 4: Pour the blended cocktail into chilled cocktail glasses.
Step 5: Garnish each glass with a fresh raspberry on the rim and add a straw.
? Perfect Pairing
White Chocolate Cranberry Cornflake Cookies
- The sweet white chocolate and tart cranberries perfectly complement the fruity notes of a Frozen Raspberry Margarita.
Homemade Dark Chocolate Cinnamon Truffles
- The rich, slightly spicy flavor of these truffles pairs wonderfully with the refreshing and tangy margarita.
Marbled Heart Cookies with Fig Jam
- The sweet fig jam and delicate texture of these cookies create a delightful contrast with the vibrant margarita flavors.
Raspberry Cheesecake (No-Bake)
- Enhance the raspberry theme with creamy, no-bake cheesecakes that match the cocktail's smooth berry flavor.
Fruit Cake Muffins (Small Batch)
- Packed with fruity flavors, these muffins align beautifully with the refreshing raspberry notes in the margarita.
? Equipment
- Blender
- Cutting board & sharp knife
- Jigger / Measuring tools
- Scoop or spoon for the crushed ice
- Serving glass
- Reusable drinking straw
? Top Tip: How to Thicken Your Frozen Margarita
To adjust the consistency of your frozen margarita, simply add more crushed ice or extra berries to thicken it. If you need to make it more liquid, add a bit of syrup or other liquid ingredients.
