🥘 Ingredients
- Cubed Ice: Ice might not seem like a key ingredient but it makes all the difference! Try to choose ice made with filtered water and opt for a larger cube. This will melt down more slowly so your drink doesn’t get watered down.
- Fresh Lime Juice: Fresh lime juice brings the zing this storm needs! Remember to grab enough fresh limes to juice and still have a couple leftovers for garnishing.
- Ginger Beer: This is the storm part of the Dark and Stormy. Ginger beer adds a nice full-bodied zesty flavor that is impossible to resist. Use your favorite brand of ginger beer for this cocktail.
- Dark Rum: A Gosling’s Dark and Stormy is one of the most iconic cocktails around. The bold yet smooth flavor of Goslings balances perfectly with the bright flavors of ginger and lime in this drink. However, if you prefer a different variety of dark rum, you can use that as an even substitute.
- Lime Slices: Garnishing with fresh slices of lime makes the final drink shine with a tantalizing green color.

Don't forget, June 9th is International Dark 'n' Stormy Day!!!!

Dark and Not-So-Stromy: Make a version of this that everyone can try by swapping out the alcohol. Try replacing the rum with non-alcoholic spirits and then trade the ginger beer for ginger ale.

💭 Top tips
- Remember to chill your glass before serving! Pop the highball glasses into the freezer for up to one hour before mixing up drinks!
- Another great way to chill the glass quickly is to fill it with crushed ice while preparing the cocktail. Pour out the crushed ice and replace it with larger cubes before splashing in your delicious cocktail!
- When mixing the drink, remember to hold the bottom of the glass (for safety and to avoid ice melt) and choose reusable straws to cut down on unnecessary waste!
