Valentines gin cocktail, garnished with a gorgeous flamingo cocktail pick, served in wine glass. Placed on a mirrored coaster next to a heart shaped flask.

Love is in the air, and what better way to toast to romance than with a Valentine’s gin cocktail fit for a queen? The Queen’s Peg Cocktail is the perfect blend of elegance and ease—floral gin meets crisp, chilled sparkling wine or Prosecco in a dazzling combination that’s as refreshing as it is refined.

Whether you’re celebrating with your partner, hosting a Galentine’s soirée, or simply treating yourself (as you should!), this cocktail sets the perfect mood for a sparkling Valentine’s Day.

Looking for a sip that’s effortlessly chic and pairs beautifully with chocolates and dreamy desserts?

This Valentine’s gin cocktail has it all—bubbly brilliance, a delicate floral aroma, and an oh-so-simple preparation that lets you spend less time mixing and more time savoring the moment.

The Queen’s Peg is a drink for romantics, for friends who love a good toast, and for anyone who believes that Valentine’s Day deserves a touch of sparkle. So, grab your favorite coupe glass, pop that Prosecco, and let’s make a toast to love, laughter, and all the wonderful queens out there. 💕✨

💕 Happy Valentine’s Day—now, let’s mix up some magic! 💕

🥘 Ingredients

Ingredients queens peg - gin, prosecco, and cubed ice.
  • Gin – I opted for Hendrick’s Flora Adora Gin for its beautifully floral and slightly sweet profile, which pairs wonderfully with the bubbles. You can also use another floral or botanical-forward gin.
  • Prosecco or Sparkling Wine – A brut or extra-dry Prosecco keeps the cocktail crisp and refreshing, balancing the floral notes of the gin. If you prefer a slightly sweeter touch, a demi-sec sparkling wine works too!
  • Cubed Ice
  • Optional Garnish – A fresh rose petal, an edible flower, or a thin slice of strawberry adds a romantic touch to this Valentine’s gin cocktail.

See the recipe card for quantities.

🔪 Instructions

Step 1: Chill your glass.
Take a beautiful wine glass (or coupe if you’re feeling extra fancy) and add 2–3 pieces of cubed ice. This keeps your cocktail crisp and refreshing.

Add cubed ice to the wine glass.

Step 2: Pour the gin.
Measure out your favorite floral gin—I used Hendrick’s Flora Adora—and pour it over the ice. The floral notes will bloom beautifully once mixed with the bubbles!

Add gin to the wine glass.

Step 3: Top with sparkle.
Slowly top off your glass with chilled Prosecco or sparkling wine. Pour gently to preserve those lovely bubbles.

Top the gin filled glass with prosecco.
Top the gin filled glass with prosecco.

Step 4: Stir & garnish.
Give it a gentle stir with a bar spoon to combine the flavors without losing too much fizz. Now for the finishing touch—garnish your drink! I went for a pink cocktail pick shaped like a flamingo (because why not add a little extra charm?), but you can also use an edible flower, a strawberry slice, or a rose petal for a romantic vibe.
