🔪 Instructions
The first thing you'll need to do to get started is wash and clean your strawberries! Don't forget to remove the little green leaves! They're technically edible but leaving them on will definitely run the recipe.
Next, in a small saucepan, add in your water, sugar, and the strawberries, and bring it to a slow boil. You'll need to keep stirring until the sugar has full dissolved.
Once you've brought the pan to a slow boil, and you know the sugar has fully dissolved, take your potato masher and start crushing the strawberries.
Next, after the strawberries have been crushed, set the pot aside for 15-20 minutes and let the mixture steep.
Afterward, strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve so you don't get left with any strawberry chunks.
Before you can actually use it in any fun drinks or dessert recipes, it needs to fully cool! Once you've allowed enough time, be sure to pour it into a sterile container and store it in the fridge!

🌡 Storage & Top Tips
This homemade strawberry simple syrup will last in the fridge for a whole month! The key to reaching that longevity, though, is making sure you store it in a sterilized glass, airtight container!
How to sterilize glass containers?
In order to sterilize glass containers, you'll need to make a hot water bath. Put the jars, bottles, and lids you're planning to use into a pot. Be sure to fully submerge the jars and bottles. Boil them for 30 minutes. Afterwards, carefully remove the jars, bottles, and lids one by one and place them on paper towels to dry.
