When life gets sour, you need something sweet to balance it out, like this fantastically fresh Daiquiri! It has just the right balance of sour and sweet to make you pucker but just enough rum to make you smile!
I love simple cocktails! They are easy to make without interrupting the fun, and their classic flavors are always crowd-pleasing. Like this super easy recipe for a classic Daiquiri! This refreshing, sour, yet sweet cocktail is the perfect drink for anyone who loves simple, clean citrus flavors as much as I do!
🥘 Ingredients
- Light Rum: Light rum has a smooth, clean flavor that makes light and fruity cocktails really shine. Its crisp finish and warm kick match perfectly with the sour taste of lime in this fresh drink!
- Fresh Lime Juice: This classic cocktail is all about fresh citrus flavor.
- Sugar Syrup: Sugar syrup, or simple syrup, is a bartender’s best friend! It comes in handy to add sweetness to so many traditional drink recipes. That is why I love making it at home. Try my easy 2-ingredient sugar syrup for yourself, and you’ll never buy bottled syrup again!
- Cubed Ice: I like to use medium to large cubes so they don't melt too much as the drink is shaken.

🍸 Variations
- Simple Twist: This easy cocktail recipe is sweetened with simple syrup, which means changing the sweet flavor of this drink is as easy as swapping the syrup! Trade the traditional sugar syrup for strawberry syrup, lavender, coconut, or whatever sweet flavor you are craving.
- Fresh Fruit: Add a flirty fruit flavor by muddling a few berries in the shaker before adding the ice, but be sure to strain well so you don’t end up with seeds!
🍽 Equipment
- Cocktail Shaker: Use your favorite style of shaker for this recipe. Try chilling the shaker in the fridge or freezer before mixing for an even cooler cocktail!
- Small Strainer: A fine-mesh sieve or strainer holds back any unwanted ice chips so they don’t go in your glass.
- Jigger
- Cutting Board and Knife
- Lemon Squeezer
- Cocktail Glass: I love the elegant look you get when you serve this classic in a martini glass. However, daiquiris look great in hurricane, coupe, or even margarita glasses. No matter what glasses you choose, the Daiquiri will always taste great!
💭 Top tips
Remember to chill all your cocktail equipment. Place your shaker and glasses in the fridge or freezer shortly before mixing; that way, everything stays icy cold all night long!
This drink loves to party! Try serving it at your next soiree with chips, salsa, and fresh fruit!
