Eggnog is a drink that is a winner at any time of year! In the form of a boozy milkshake, perfect for the hot summer season!
With only three ingredients, you can prepare this excellent drink in minutes! Decorate with whipped cream and cocktail cherry, and you're looking good at any BBQ or summer party!

The delicate taste of eggnog (homemade) is accompanied by delicious (homemade) vanilla ice cream. Its creamy texture will make your heart beat faster!
Another delicious milkshake I can highly recommend is our Stracciatella Egg Liqueur Milkshake with homemade Egg Liqueur! Both milkshakes make a beautiful drink for a Christmas in July party!
If you don't wanna fret about making the eggnog and the vanilla ice cream yourself, I hear you! Sometimes you might not have the time!
Just hop to a nearby local store and get yourself the store-bought products. 🙂
You might have time to try out our homemade egg liqueur or vanilla ice cream recipe on another occasion!

🔪 Instructions
Step 1
Take a high mixing bowl and fill it with milk. Foam the milk with an electric hand mixer and then mix in the eggnog.
Step 2
Prepare the drinking glass for serving and put one scoop of vanilla ice cream in the glass. Pour the milk-egg liqueur mixture into the cup.
Step 3
Decorate the egg liqueur milkshake with whipped cream and dust some powdered sugar over it with a sieve. Finally, place the cocktail cherry on top and serve with a straw.
All it takes is five minutes to prepare this delightful summer drink! Now take your time to savor it!
🥃 Substitutions
Instead of eggnog, you can use any cream liqueur of your choice. Baileys Strawberry-Cream or coffee liqueur (Kahlua) are both delicious alternatives! If you do not want a cream liqueur, I recommend Cointreau or Apricot Brandy. Both are fantastic alternatives to eggnog as well.
📖 Variations
To make this milkshake suitable for Christmas 🧑🎄:
- replace the cocktail cherry with Christmas decorations
- add an adorable candy cane stirrer
- or use Christmas sprinkles,
- and dust the whipped cream with cinnamon or nutmeg instead of powdered sugar.
This way, you'll have a Christmas milkshake in no time!

🌡 Storage
Milkshakes don't store very well. They lose their texture after a short time.
Since you can prepare this eggnog milkshake in just five minutes, I recommend mixing it up fresh right before serving.
💭 Top tip
If you want your milkshake ice-cold and foamier, use a cocktail shaker to make it instead of a hand mixer.
Shake milk and Eggnog with three ice cubes in a cocktail shaker, and then pour the mixture over the vanilla ice in the glass.
🙋🏻 FAQ
Yes, of course! You can sprinkle your milkshake, for example, with ground nutmeg, cinnamon, or cocoa, but also use chocolate sprinkles. Eggnog is very grateful here when using different toppings.
Usually, you can buy Eggnog all year round. In local liquor stores, it may only be available from October onwards. If this is the case, and you can't get it, you can easily make it yourself or buy it online.
