So, gather your ingredients and some popsicle molds—let’s embark on this delightful summer adventure!

🥘 Ingredients

  • Lime, Organic: Freshly squeezed lime juice is the key to these popsicles. It adds a bright, tangy flavor that cuts through the sweetness and balances the other ingredients.
  • Ginger Beer: Choose your preferred brand. The spicy kick from ginger beer complements the lime’s tartness and adds a refreshing bite.
  • Vanilla Vodka: I love using vanilla vodka for my recipes. If you have time, make your own! Check out our blog post on how to make vanilla vodka at home! The vanilla notes add a lovely depth of flavor.
  • Brown Sugar: Just a little bit. This adds a hint of molasses-like sweetness, balancing the tart lime and spicy ginger beer.

After some testing with different Ginger beer brands, I recommend using non-alcoholic ginger beer for the best results. I tried it with alcoholic ginger beer, but due to the higher alcohol content, the popsicles did not freeze well.

🍻 Ginger Beer Brands

Hollows & Fentimans Ginger Beer: This brand offers a distinctive ginger flavor with a perfect balance of sweetness and spice. It’s brewed using traditional methods, providing a natural, robust taste that complements cocktails beautifully.

Fever-Tree Ginger Beer: Known for its robust, natural ginger flavor with a slight citrusy note. It’s less sweet and more balanced, making it a favorite for cocktails.

Bundaberg Ginger Beer: This Australian brand offers a sweeter, more intense ginger flavor with a rich, full-bodied taste, ideal for those who prefer a stronger ginger kick.

Gosling’s Stormy Ginger Beer: With a spicier profile and more carbonation, this ginger beer is perfect for mixing in cocktails like the Dark ‘n Stormy, providing a sharp and zesty ginger punch.

Reed’s Ginger Beer: Available in different varieties like Extra, Stronger, and Original, Reed’s offers a wide range of spiciness levels. It’s made with fresh ginger root, which gives it a more natural and slightly sweet flavor.

Q Ginger Beer: Designed specifically for cocktails, Q Ginger Beer is less sweet with a bold ginger flavor and a hint of spice. It has a crisp, clean taste that doesn’t overpower the drink.

🌡️ Storage

Moscow Mule popsicles can last in the freezer for up to 2-3 months if stored properly. Ensure they are kept in airtight containers or wrapped well to prevent freezer burn and maintain their flavor and texture.

💭 Non-Alcoholic Moscow Mule Popsicles

To make Moscow Mule popsicles non-alcoholic, simply replace the vanilla vodka with a vanilla-flavored syrup or extract and use a non-alcoholic ginger beer.

Ingredients:

  • Lime, Organic: Freshly squeezed lime juice is essential for the bright, tangy flavor.
  • Ginger Beer: Use your preferred non-alcoholic brand.
  • Vanilla Syrup: Substitute vanilla vodka with an equal amount of vanilla-flavored syrup or a few drops of vanilla extract.
  • Brown Sugar: Just a little bit to add sweetness.

Due to the absence of alcohol, the non-alcoholic popsicles will freeze more quickly.
