Bright green, icy, and just creepy enough, this Halloween Margarita mixes tequila, fresh lime, Cointreau, and green apple syrup into one seriously fun Halloween cocktail. Add a black sugar rim and a few gummy worms, and you have a party drink that looks every bit as good as it tastes.

Halloween is just around the corner, and this year I felt like changing things up a little.
Over the past few years, my Halloween recipes have definitely leaned toward the darker red and black side. Think Witch’s Bubbly, my Spooky Kramble, and these No-Bake Halloween Tartlets.
This time, though, I wanted something completely different.
I wanted toxic green.
And really, what fits that better than a frozen poison apple margarita?
I already have a soft spot for frozen margaritas. I love that thick, icy texture, and they are always fun to dress up for a party. For this one, I blended tequila with fresh lime juice, Cointreau, and Monin Green Apple Syrup. The syrup gives the drink that wonderfully bright green color along with a sweet-tart apple flavor.
Add a coarse black sugar rim and a couple of gummy worms, and it is Halloween-ready.
So grab your blender. This one is ridiculously fun to make.

🔪 How to Make This Poison Apple Frozen Margarita
Prepare the Black Sugar Rim
Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass. I like to coat only part of the rim rather than covering the whole thing. Dip the damp edge into edible black sugar sprinkles, then set the glass aside while you make the margarita.
Blend the Margarita
Add gold tequila, fresh lime juice, Monin Green Apple Syrup, and Cointreau to your blender. Add crushed ice on top. Putting the liquids in first makes things a little easier on the blender and helps everything come together more smoothly. Blend until thick, smooth, and slushy.

Pour and Decorate
Pour the frozen margarita straight into your prepared glass. Add a few gummy worms and serve it right away while it is still thick and icy.

Party tip: Batch Version!
Ingredients for 6
12 oz / 360 ml gold tequila
6 oz / 180 ml fresh lime juice
12 oz / 360 ml Monin Green Apple Syrup
3 oz / 90 ml Cointreau
About 9 heaped cups / 1.2 kg ice
Black sugar, for the rims
Gummy worms, for garnish
Unless your blender is enormous, I would not try to make all six drinks at once.
Instead, divide everything into two or three smaller batches. You will get a much smoother frozen texture, and your blender will have an easier time with all that ice.
Get Some of the Party Prep Done Ahead
You can measure and mix the tequila, lime juice, green apple syrup, and Cointreau earlier in the day, then keep the mixture covered in the refrigerator until you need it.
The glasses can be rimmed with black sugar ahead of time too.
When everyone is ready for drinks, pour some of the chilled cocktail mixture into your blender, add the ice, and blend until thick and slushy.
Add the gummy worms at the end, and serve.
That way, you are not measuring four different bottles while everyone is waiting for a cocktail.

Tips & Tricks
- Use enough ice. You want this margarita thick and properly slushy. If it looks a little too loose after blending, simply add a bit more ice and blend again.
- Liquids first, ice second. Adding the tequila, lime juice, syrup, and Cointreau before the ice helps the blender get moving more easily.
- Prepare the glass before you blend. Frozen margaritas start melting pretty quickly, so it is much easier if your black sugar rim and gummy worms are already waiting.
- Stick with fresh lime juice. It makes a real difference here. The acidity balances the sweetness of the apple syrup and keeps the cocktail tasting bright rather than heavy.

Notes
- Tequila: I used gold tequila because that is what I had on hand. Blanco tequila will work just as well if you prefer it.
- Consistency: If your margarita is too thin, add a little more ice and blend again. If it is too thick for the blender to handle easily, add a small splash of liquid.
- Black sugar rim: Cover the whole rim or just one side. I like the partial rim because it looks a little more dramatic and gives you the option to sip from the sugared or plain side.
- Serve right away: Frozen margaritas melt quickly, so have your glass and garnish ready before you start blending.
