🔪 How to Make a Red Halloween Cocktail with Vanilla Vodka

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the vanilla vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice, and fresh lemon juice. Shake well until the outside of the shaker feels properly cold.
If you like, chill your martini glass beforehand and decorate the rim with black sanding sugar by rubbing a lemon wedge around the edge and dipping it into the sugar.
Strain the cocktail into the prepared martini glass. For a spooky Halloween touch, place a plastic spider on top of the glass as decoration, just like in the photos. Serve immediately while the drink is icy cold.

Happy Halloween! 👻

Tips & Tricks
- USE LEMON, NOT LIME. This cocktail is made with fresh lemon juice, which gives it a bright and clean citrus flavor that works especially well with cranberry and vanilla vodka.
- ADJUST THE TARTNESS. If your cranberry juice is very tart, the drink may taste sharper. For a softer cocktail, use a sweeter cranberry juice drink instead of unsweetened cranberry juice.
- CHILL THE GLASS. For an extra-refreshing cocktail, place your martini glass in the freezer for 10–15 minutes before serving.
- ADD SIMPLE HALLOWEEN TOUCHES. A festive cocktail napkin, a few plastic spiders placed around the serving area, or a themed straw can make the drink feel Halloween-ready without much effort.

I can’t wait to make this for my friends! I know they’d love it but I only have regular vodka. Can I sub that? Should I add vanilla extract?
Thank you, Marcellina! This cocktail can also be prepared with regular vodka. If you don’t want to miss the hint of vanilla, you can also make your own vanilla vodka at home by putting regular vodka in a separate bottle and infusing it with a vanilla bean.
Vanilla extract is very intense. If you are making this cocktail for a crowd, you can add a drop of vanilla extract. For small quantities, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Oh, this looks amazing. I need to go shopping for some Halloween accessories for this cocktail, thanks!
Hallowen is coming, and this will be the cocktail I will make for the Halloween party with my friends! Thanks for the inspiration!
Looks delicious! And so fun for Halloween.
My husband and I love this drink on Halloween, while the kids are walking around trick or treating. We also like a small squeeze of lime juice along with the lemon juice. Delicious!
