Aperol Spritz with Wine Instead of Prosecco
The Summer Spritz I Can’t Stop Making: Aperol & White Wine
Aperol with white wine is the dreamy summer spritz I keep coming back to. Light, bubbly, and just the right balance of bitter and bright, this cocktail swaps the usual Prosecco for a chilled, dry white wine. The result? A softer, smoother take on the classic that’s still wonderfully refreshing. With a splash of sparkling water and a slice of orange, it’s sunshine in a glass.
Can you picture it already? Come join me on the terrace for a sip.

Imagine this. A balmy summer evening. The air still warm from the day, with a soft breeze teasing the pages of your book. You’re curled up in your favorite chair, feet tucked under you, a plate of lemon cookies or a slice of no-bake cheesecake beside you. The glass in your hand catches the last golden rays of the sun as the white wine spritz sparkles with each tilt. You take a sip. It’s light. Citrusy. Just bitter enough to keep it interesting. The kind of drink that turns five minutes into a little holiday.
If you’re an Aperol lover, you’ll adore this softer variation. And if you’re new to Aperol, this is a gentle way in. It pairs beautifully with anything lemony—like my no-bake lemon cheesecake, these lemon white chocolate cookies, or even a scoop of lemon sorbet. More of a brunch sipper? You might enjoy the Aperol Mimosa too. For cozy evenings, don’t miss the Winter Aperol Spritz or the festive Cranberry Aperol version.
This spritz is my go-to when I want something special without a lot of fuss. And honestly, isn’t that the best kind of drink? Let’s pour a glass together and let the summer magic do its thing.

I served this to our guests, and it was an instant hit! It had the perfect balance of subtle bitterness and refreshing brightness. The addition of sparkling water and a slice of orange elevated the drink, adding a lively, citrusy twist that made it even more delightful!
Thank you, Jena! I am so happy you’ve enjoyed it! 🙂
I tried this and it’s such a refreshing twist, the white wine makes it feel lighter and smoother than the classic. Definitely my new go-to summer drink.

Awesome, Jan! Thank you!
Amazing cocktail. It’s so easy but feels so fancy. I’m going to be serving this at our girls’ night.
I used Pinot Grigio and the cocktail was delicious! What a great idea to use regular white wine.
Great choice! Thank you, Sarah!
