Peel the ½ lbs Watermelon and remove the seeds. Cut the fruit into pieces.
½ lbs Watermelon
Finely puree the melon in a tall container using an immersion blender.
Pass the puréed melon through a fine sieve into a saucepan.
Add 4 ½ tbs Water, 2 tbs Lemon juice, 2 tbs Lime juice, and ½ lbs Granulated Sugar to the saucepan.
½ lbs Granulated Sugar, 4 ½ tbs Water, 2 tbs Lime juice, 2 tbs Lemon juice
Bring to a boil and simmer for about 5 minutes.
Pour the hot melon syrup into bottles and seal immediately.
Once cooled, store the syrup in the fridge.
Version 2 - without boiling
Muddle ½ lbs Watermelon pieces and combine them with 4 ½ tbs Water, 2 tbs Lemon juice, 2 tbs Lime juice½ lbs Granulated Sugar in a preserving jar.
½ lbs Watermelon, 4 ½ tbs Water, 2 tbs Lemon juice, 2 tbs Lime juice, ½ lbs Granulated Sugar
Let the mixture sit in the fridge for 24 hours to allow the sugar to dissolve naturally.
After 24 hours, strain the contents of the preserving jar through a sieve.
