A calm and balanced Kalita Wave pour over method using a simple three-pour structure. Designed for consistent extraction, steady flavor, and an approachable home brewing routine.
Insert a Kalita Wave filter into the dripper and rinse with hot water. Discard rinse water and add 2½ tbsp ground coffee.

Start your timer and pour about 3 tbsp water (40 g) to bloom. Let rest until 45 seconds.
At 45 seconds, begin the second pour and slowly add water until the scale reads 130 g total.
Around 1 minute 15–30 seconds, begin the final pour and continue until you reach 225 g total water (1 cup filtered water).

Give the dripper a gentle swirl to settle the coffee bed.
Allow the coffee to draw down naturally. Total brew time should be about 2–3 minutes.
Notes
For blooming, aim for about 2–3 times the coffee weight in water. A gentle swirl at the end helps promote even extraction without over-agitating the coffee bed.
