Almond Cream Cake - Malakoff Cake

– Ladyfingers – Butter, unsalted and soft – Granulated Sugar – Almonds, ground – Egg Yolks – Heavy Cream – Orange Juice OR One part Orange Juice, one part Cognac – Heavy Cream – Dark chocolate bar - for grating – Giotto - or Hershey Kisses

Step 1

Cream your butter, and add the granulated sugar and egg yolks.

Step 2

Mix in your grated almonds and thoroughly beat everything together until fluffy.

Step 3

Whip up the heavy cream and add it together with the orange juice to the mix.

Step 4

Next, create a bottom layer with the ladyfingers.

Step 5

Followed by a ladyfingers boarder.

Step 6

Drizzle the ladyfingers with orange juice and add the almond cream.

Step 7

Continue with a second ladyfingers layer.

Step 8

Drizzle the ladyfingers with orange juice.

Step 9

Finish with a ladyfingers layer.

Step 10

Chill for 8 hours - decorate with whipped cream and Giotto before serving.
