Notes
This version uses a bourbon-forward 3:1:1 ratio. The extra bourbon makes it warmer, smoother, and slightly less bitter than an equal-parts variation. A traditional Old Pal is usually made with rye whiskey. Bourbon gives this version a softer, rounder flavor that suits cool fall evenings beautifully. Keep opened dry vermouth in the refrigerator and use it while it still tastes fresh. For a spooky Halloween look, cut a wide strip of lemon peel and float it on top of the red cocktail. If you enjoy a Negroni or Boulevardier, there is a good chance you will enjoy this bourbon Campari cocktail too.
