Lumumba also called hot chocolate with rum, is a delicious boozy gluten-free and fructose-free comfort drink with no added sugar for cold winter days. With three ingredients only, it's very quick and easy to make. It's a rather tart drink with a prominent rum flavor.
Heat about three-quarters of the milk in a saucepan or microwave to a comfortable drinking temperature.
Stir in the cocoa powder.
Measure 8 teaspoon of the rum and pour it directly into a large mug
Pour in the cocoa and mix it with the rum.
Create a delicious milk froth with the remaining milk.
Garnish
Garnish your Lumumba with the milk froth
Sprinkle some chocolate sprinkles on top.
Please note that all my recipes are developed and tested in metric grams. I recommend using digital scales for more accurate results. I provided a conversion to US customary in the recipe, but please note that I haven't tested it using this method.
