Lumumba Hot Chocolate with Rum

Lumumba also called hot chocolate with rum, is a delicious boozy gluten-free and fructose-free comfort drink with no added sugar for cold winter days. With three ingredients only, it's very quick and easy to make. It's a rather tart drink with a prominent rum flavor.

For Garnishing

  • Heat about three-quarters of the milk in a saucepan or microwave to a comfortable drinking temperature. 
  • Stir in the cocoa powder.
  • Measure 4 cl of the rum and pour it directly into a large mug
  • Pour in the cocoa and mix it with the rum.
  • Create a delicious milk froth with the remaining milk.

Garnish

  • Garnish your Lumumba with the milk froth
  • Sprinkle some chocolate sprinkles on top.

Please note that all my recipes are developed and tested in metric grams. I recommend using digital scales for more accurate results. I provided a conversion to US customary in the recipe, but please note that I haven't tested it using this method.
